Job Description

This organisation, based in central Auckland is a well-known, successful property investment company. They are seeking an experienced and versatile Senior Financial Accountant to be part of their close-knit team.

About the role:

This is a full-time permanent position, reporting to the CFO and CEO.

  • Maintain accurate financial records in Xero, and other relevant systems
  • Complete daily bank reconciliations and cashflow forecasting
  • Manage the finance aspects relating to tenants, including responding to queries and debtor reporting
  • Complete month-end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of monthly management reports
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Lead finance projects to enhance efficiency and stakeholder experience
  • Provide general support across the business as part of a small high performing Head Office team
  • Preparation of annual financial statements and tax returns for review.
  • Manage payables/creditor processes including reviewing supplier invoices and payroll
  • Complete annual tenant opex wash-ups and budgets
  • Prepare annual Group P&L and cash forecasts, including rolling and long-term forecasts.
  • Contribute to the design of internal controls and finance risk management framework.
  • Provide strategic input into the direction of the Group alongside senior management.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to optimize returns within the Group's risk profile.

About you:

  • 4-5 years' experience in financial accounting, reporting, and analysis
  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Experience within property sector - an advantage
  • Process-oriented with a commitment to excellence and routine
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates confidentiality, trustworthiness, and professionalism
  • Shows drive, enthusiasm, and self-motivation
  • Adaptable and responsive to change
  • Creative problem solver with resilience in overcoming obstacles
  • Proficient in Excel and experienced in financial modelling
  • Familiarity with accounting standards, tax compliance, and organisational procedures
