What you would be doing  

The Senior Financial Accountant reports into the Financial Controller and sits alongside a team of like-minded professionals. 

The roles' objective is to provide guidance on complex reporting, insights and advisory on financial outcomes for a variety of different workflows that take place within the organisation.  This role will provide in depth advice on the company’s adherence to various accounting standards, cash flow reporting and month end processes.

You will be expected to do the following:  

• Ongoing analysis on management reports for SLT

• External reporting to various stakeholders within public sector   

• Balance sheet reconciliations / statements / cashflow monitoring and actuals  

• GST / FBT & income tax processing and compliance

• External audit process liaison  

Who are we looking for?  

I’m on the lookout for anyone who has demonstrated experience as a Senior Financial Accountant who has had exposure to the infrastructure industry or local government. Ideally you will have strong knowledge of various accounting standards and you’ll be open to starting a new and exciting opportunity in Petone.

Ideally, you will have:  

• CA or CPA certification   

• Over 5 years of financial accounting experience  
• Exposure to local government accounting environments would be beneficial

• Recent experience with Technology One or a similar FMIS   

• Great relationship management abilities    

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
