Job Description

Our client is non for profit organisation, whose primary business interest is focused in the retail sector. Located in Wiri, as a member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting our client's objectives and upholding values in this mission driven organisation.

Role Overview:

As a Stock Controller, you will be an integral part of Finance, Planning, and Resources team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will oversee the efficient management of our client's inventory, ensuring timely receipt, storage, and distribution of goods for sales and grants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the warehousing and distribution function, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate the shipment of inwards goods, managing relationships with freight forwarding service providers and tracking stock-in-transit.
  • Oversee the receipting of inwards goods, ensuring prompt processing and storage in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Manage the warehousing of inventory, reviewing and implementing processes to minimise stock damage and maximise value.
  • Lead the picking, packing, and dispatch of orders, optimising processes to meet customer expectations.
  • Support stock costing and evaluations, maintaining accurate records and reconciling variances.
  • Manage warehousing and inventory information systems, recommending improvements and coordinating user training.
  • Lead, manage, and develop reporting personnel, ensuring adequate staffing levels and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Support company values and health and safety management, demonstrating integrity in all interactions and fostering a culture of safety.

Person Specification:

  • Essential qualifications include an on-road forklift licence or the ability to obtain one.
  • You should have sound knowledge of inventory management principles, warehousing equipment, health and safety practices, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and motivate a team are essential.
  • You should be adaptable, customer-focused, and committed to continuous improvement.
