Job Description

This organisation based in Christchurch is well known for providing top-quality repairs and maintenance within the automotive sector. They are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced versatile Accounts Administrator to oversee daily office operations and assist with the company’s financial and accounting functions to be part of their growing business. 

About the role:

This is a full-time office based role. The role reports to the Branch Manager. You will be the first point of contact for their customers and other stakeholders. This is a varied role combining accounts, finance and office administration, with responsibility for supporting the daily financial activities across their Christchurch sites.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintaining accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations
  • Processing and accurately coding supplier invoices
  • Managing and reconciling branch credit card expenses
  • Completing daily bank reconciliations and payment uploads
  • Managing accounts receivable and communicating with clients regarding billing and payments
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end processes, including journal entries and financial reporting
  • Assisting with GST reconciliations and providing information to the Group Accountant
  • Providing general office administration support, including facilities coordination, office supplies, branch events and travel arrangements
  • Assisting with general enquiries, emails, correspondence, quotes and reports as required

About You:

  • Similar 5+ years' experience in accounting, bookkeeping or a similar finance administration role
  • Strong knowledge of financial record-keeping, reconciliations, ledgers and journal processing
  • Tech savvy comfortable with accounting systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • A willingness to learn, develop new skills and take on additional responsibilities
