Chief Financial Officer – Contract 3 months may extend

Location: Auckland, New Zealand

This well-known high-growth technology or software business based in Auckland is seeking a highly versatile and experienced CFO for a short-term contract.

About the role:

The CFO will play a critical role in shaping the organisation’s strategic direction, driving financial performance, supporting international growth, and ensuring strong governance.

This is a unique opportunity for a forward-thinking finance leader who thrives in technology-driven environments and is passionate about scaling global businesses through data-driven decision-making and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the company's global finance function, including financial planning, reporting, treasury, tax, audit, and risk management.
  • Partner with the senior management and executive team to develop and execute growth strategies
  • Provide strategic financial insights to support investment decisions, acquisitions, partnerships, and new market opportunities.
  • Manage investor relations activities and maintain strong relationships with shareholders, analysts, and external stakeholders.
  • Drive forecasting, budgeting, and performance management processes across the organisation.
  • Optimise capital allocation and cash management to support sustainable growth.
  • Strengthen financial systems, processes, and controls across multiple international jurisdictions.
  • Support commercial initiatives through robust financial analysis and business partnering.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global finance team.

About You:

  • Proven CFO, or senior finance executive experience within a high-growth technology company (desirable)
  • Experience operating across multiple international markets and jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated success supporting growth, transformation, capital raising, M&A, or scaling initiatives
  • Deep expertise in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, risk management, and regulatory compliance
  • Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or equivalent professional qualification
  • Experience within SaaS, AI, language technology, or digital services businesses would be highly advantageous
