Technical Business Analyst

Location: Auckland CBD, New Zealand
Reporting to: Product Manager

Overview:
Technical Business Analyst to join a dynamic team focused on delivering digital solutions for a global software company. The role will be pivotal in analyzing software requirements, designing effective solutions, and supporting the software development lifecycle. Ideal candidate will have a software development background.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Requirements Analysis:

    • Define and document functional requirements for both technical and business stakeholders.
    • Facilitate discussions and workshops to gather feedback and verify requirements.
    • Translate requirements into clear, actionable user stories for the development team.
    • Provide technical support for business initiatives, including evaluating new technologies.
  2. Software Development Support:

    • Develop and execute functional and user test plans to ensure solution quality.
    • Conduct user acceptance testing to validate that implemented solutions meet original requirements.
    • Collaborate closely with developers, stakeholders, and management as a liaison.
    • Document technical processes to enhance knowledge sharing within the team.
  3. Deployment and Post-Deployment Support:

    • Conduct impact assessments and gap analyses for deployment projects.
    • Provide technical support during deployment and upgrades, ensuring release documentation is accurate.
    • Assist project engineers in documenting requirements and reporting software issues.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in business analysis, including experience in requirement definition, user story creation, and communication with development teams.
  • Technical Expertise: Knowledge of SDLC, software testing, and project management. Familiarity with .NET, C#, SQL Server, or Delphi is a plus.
  • Tools Proficiency: Strong skills in MS Office, SQL, Azure DevOps, and other software tools.
  • Skills and Attributes:
    • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
    • Proven ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work.
    • Adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
    • High attention to detail with a proactive approach to managing potential issues.

Desirable Experience:
Experience with industrial control systems, data analytics, or IoT is advantageous, along with additional language skills (e.g., French, Italian, Spanish, or Chinese).
