Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Events Manager to join their high performing team. This team is committed to promoting excellence and innovation within the design and architecture community through a diverse range of events, workshops, and seminars.

Position Overview:

The Events Manager will play a pivotal role in spearheading event management activities and services. From biennial National Conferences to local workshops and awards ceremonies, the Events Manager will be responsible for the efficient planning, organisation, and coordination of events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, lead, and facilitate events and sponsorship programs
  • Research and identify new event opportunities and delivery methods.
  • Prepare and control the annual budget, including forecasting and cash flow management.
  • Provide leadership to a team to develop and deliver marketing and communications strategies.
  • Liaise with event presenters and sponsors to identify their requirements.
  • Produce detailed proposals for events, including budgets, timelines, venues, suppliers, insurances, and health & safety plans.
  • Prepare the annual events programme plan and associated budgeting.
  • Manage member communications.
  • Create post-event evaluation reports.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders.
  • Propose edits to the website and social media.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to travel as available.

Skills Required:

  • A minimum of five years' experience in events management administration. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Familiarity with online event management platforms.
  • Able to work unsupervised, using initiative.
  • Excellent time management, organisational, and prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of office management systems and processes.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Patient and calm under pressure.
