Wilson Parking is the largest parking provider in New Zealand that started off with one car park in NZ, over 35 years ago, and has rapidly grown since.  Due to continued growth, they are seeking a highly experienced and strategic General Manager – Finance to lead their finance function and support the organisation’s long-term growth and sustainability.

 

About the role:

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the GM Finance provides strategic financial insight and advice to the CEO, fellow SLT members, and other key stakeholders. The role leads performance reporting and monitoring, financial risk management, and governance activities, ensuring transparent, consistent, and reliable financial practices that support informed decision-making and sustainable business performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial leadership and direction to the organization
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements
  • Manage cash flow, investments, and risk management activities
  • Lead and develop the finance team to achieve high performance
  • Partner with executive management to support business decisions and strategy
  • Oversight of the Data & Analytics function supporting the company’s customer-facing app, ensuring data is reliable, actionable, and used to enhance pricing, yield management, occupancy optimisation, and customer engagement

 

About you:

  • Previous senior accounting experience with at least 5-10 years in a leadership role
  • Professional qualification CA, CPA, or similar – essential
  • Strong understanding of commercial contracts, with proven experience managing the requirements of property leases and property-related legislation and regulatory frameworks
  • Detailed knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and general financial management principles
  • Highly skilled in presenting complex and technical financial information to audiences with varying levels of financial knowledge and interest
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior management role ideally within a service-based and/or retail industry
  • Significant experience in the preparation, implementation, monitoring, and review of budgets and financial forecasts
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret financial data to inform commercial decision-making, optimise margins, and support contract negotiations
